Self Portrait 1993.
Victor Sloan was invited to produce a portrait for the National
Self Portrait Collection of Ireland, which is displayed in the
University of Limerick. At the time he was making these
self-portraits, his mother died. He has included three of her
favourite photographs in them: himself as a baby, with his
brothers, Kenneth, Wilson and Jim, and his parents Margaret and
Isaac on their wedding day. He has attempted to convey the fragile
nature of human life.
